Adult Guardianship

The Adult Guardianship process occurs when an individual, usually a loved one, is appointed to manage the affairs of a person who is no longer able to because of declining mental and/or physical abilities such as a developmental disability, Alzheimer’s disease, a coma, etc. Our role is to educate people on this process, perform the initial review of the legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws and rules, and schedule the hearings.

Once a Superior Court judge declares an individual incapacitated and appoints a guardian, we are responsible for qualifying that guardian. Guardianship records are confidential and are not public records.
